MEET THE TEAM
Whitney Tisdale, M.S.,CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech Therapist
Whitney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders in 2009 and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 2011, both from the University of Alabama.
She has a special interest in working with phonological disorders, supporting children with behavioral needs, and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to promote functional communication.
With 14 years of experience, Whitney has worked in public schools, specialized behavioral schools, and private practice settings. She opened her first clinic in Georgia in 2014 and has remained dedicated to helping children communicate with confidence and clarity.
Outside of work, Whitney enjoys cooking, crafting, being active in her church, and spending time with her husband, Harold, and their two children, Ava and Jrue.
Elizabeth Stevenson
Office Manager/Administrative Assistant
Elizabeth helps keep the day-to-day operations at Speech Spot running smoothly, from scheduling and billing to making sure families feel welcomed and supported. She’s passionate about creating a warm, organized space where therapists can focus on what they do best.
Outside of work, Elizabeth loves photography, creative design, and spending time with her family.
Amy Harris, M.S.,CCC-SLP
Speech/Feeding Therapist
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders with a minor in Spanish from the University of Alabama in 2012. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 2014.
Her clinical passions include feeding and swallowing disorders, bilingual therapy, cleft palate, and childhood apraxia of speech. Amy brings a well-rounded perspective to her work, drawing from her diverse experience across multiple settings.
She has worked with adults with developmental disabilities, spent three years in the public school system, and has nearly seven years of experience in private practice.
Outside the therapy room, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and their three energetic boys.
Emma Barnes, M.S.,CCC-SLP
Speech Therapist
Emma earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Alabama A&M University. She has a strong passion for early language development and emphasizes learning through play-based therapy. Emma also enjoys supporting communication through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), helping children find their voice and express their wants and needs.
Before joining Speech Spot, Emma worked in a school setting for six months. She has now been part of the Speech Spot team for over three years and is grateful for the meaningful experiences and relationships she has built along the way.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on walks, reading, and exploring new coffee shops.
Mary Beth Narmore, M.S.,CCC-SLP
Speech Therapist
Mary Beth earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Alabama A&M University.
She enjoys working with young and school-aged children, with a special interest in helping those with speech sound disorders (SSDs) become more intelligible so they can confidently communicate with family and peers. Mary Beth also finds fulfillment in supporting children with attention deficits, noting that there's nothing more rewarding than witnessing their progress over time.
Mary Beth has been a practicing speech-language pathologist for four years. Before joining Speech Spot, she spent three years working in the school system.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and family, as well as traveling and exploring new places.
